Disconnect to Reconnect - Part I

Do you ever feel like your marriage is stuck in the same old pattern? Get up, Get ready for work, get the kids ready for school, work, shuttling to after school activities, get a workout at the gym, cleaning, cooking, laundry, more cleaning; try to unwind by watching TV then everyone off to bed hoping you will get a good night of sleep so that you have the energy and rest to start the day again tomorrow? Did I forget to mention: " Oh, just a minute, Honey, I need to do this thing online and then I'll join you?"

If the answer is YES then it is time to disconnect to reconnect!

Assignment number one: Write down 3 things you appreciate and admire the most about your spouse. Set aside some planned down-time (like an at-home date night or an actual date-night). Share those 3 things with her/him giving your special someone your UNDIVIDED ATTENTION. Of course, no cell phone, no tablets, no tv or other digital devices UNLESS it is your own special selection of 'mood music.' If you don't have any, try Spotify or Pandora Radio and choose a 'station' which has this as a play list.
